It was such a pleasure to be asked to document a lovely couples wedding, I have known Shaun and Emma for a couple of years as I worked with Emma a few years ago supporting children and young adults with learning disabilities and Emma used to make a killer brew, can't add much more than that but her brews were great. All joking aside I was truly humbled to be approached by them to document their special day, as I have never met a couple that are as close and as supporting as these two, and to be able to capture that emotion and love was such a pleasure, and I really wish them all the happiness for the future.
I could tell from the moment I arrived at Emma's mum and dad's house that it was going to be a lovely day, to be greeted by such a lovely family into their family home in Plymouth. It was very relaxed which was very unusual but really what did I expect from Emma (Mrs Calm), but really did set the atmosphere and made for some really lovely documentary wedding images.
I then headed over to document groom prep with Shaun and the boys, the atmosphere couldn't have been more different, with Shaun definitely feeling the nerves and the hustle and bustle of having the groom, best man and Shaun and Emma's 3 boys getting ready. Once they were all ready it was a little wait before the cars arrived to pick them up and then it was off the the Elfordleigh Hotel.
Emma wasn't far behind and arrived at the Elfordleigh Hotel in a stunning South Hams wedding venue situated in the country side near Plymouth, Devon in a stunning 1930 Franklin from CDEC Wedding cars, It was then into the Elfordleigh Hotel and a short wait before the ceremony.
It was then time for the big moment, and what a lovely ceremony it was full of emotion and love and a real pleasure to document.
Then it was time for everyone to get together and congratulate the newly weds outside which was such a beautiful location, set in the hotel grounds overlooking the countryside and the golf course, we had some great group shots and then whisked the couple off for some fun and interesting couple wedding portraits as you will see below.
The Elfordleigh Hotel situated in the lovely South hams country side and located just outside Plymouth, Devon has truly breath taking views and has lovely features around its golf course including some lovely lakes which were ideal for portraits. I was asked by the groom to do an extra special portrait as he was an avid Star Wars fan and sure did have the force with him, so I had no choice but to oblige, something a little different to my normal images but something very special and meaning full to the couple and thats what I love doing, give my couples a bespoke and tailored service.
