Precious Outdoor maternity bump portraits at Burrator Reservoir on Dartmoor
It was a pleasure to be asked to document Sammy's maternity portraits and create some lovely images for her to look back on and share with her children and family when they are older. being pregnant is such a special time and something you will vaguely remember after your precious bundle is born, so having bump photos really is a great way to remembering this moment more vividly.
For Sammy's bump portraits we headed out to Cann woods on the outskirts of Plymouth and utilised some of the stunning backdrops and autumnal winter colours, we then headed up to Burrator Reservoir on Dartmoor which had some stunning views but I must admit it was a little cold, but Sammy was great she really wanted to get some nice images and stuck at it, wrapping up warm between shots.
I love maternity bump portraits, they really are special moments that need documenting as we dont get these short periods of time back. You might be unsure at first but if you don't choose to have a pregnancy portrait session while your pregnant, you've lost the chance to create those special once in a lifetime memories and you can't get them back.
I often get mums saying they would have liked to have had images of there bump on their previous babies to compare how they were carrying. Photos also trigger emotions, memories and feelings and the help you to remember more vividly. Its not just memories for you, but for your children when they are older, they will be thrilled to see photos of when they were in mummy's tummy, while they were growing inside.
