Its was an absolute pleasure to meet little Yoyo and her lovely mummy and daddy. Yoyo came down to my home studio in Plymouth all the way from Exeter to have her first year children portraits at Ashley Ide Photography and I must admit at first I thought she wasn't going to have any photographs taken as she was very shy and wanted to stay with mummy, however after about 20 minutes of me playing with the stacking blocks with her and gently encouraging her to engage on the set up we were able to capture some truly lovely moments.
It can be daunting to say the least when your child comes in for a children's portrait session, big lights, man with a camera, big back drops and a new and different location (sensory overload) thats why I make sure I allow enough time to get to know your child and if that means spending 20 minutes playing with stacking blocks or playing with teddies then thats what I do. For any portrait session your child has to feel relaxed and comfortable and this is what I strive to do to capture some fun but timless memories that you can share and treasure for many years.
As you can see below little Yoyo sure came out of her shell and really had a great time during her portrait session, it really was a pleasure to document some lovely photographs for her mummy and daddy to treasure.
I hope you have enjoyed this blog post, please feel free to leave a comment below and if you would like to book in a portrait session so I can capture some beautiful portraits for you to treasure please do contact me.
